was founded in 1971 as a women's health facility.
A full staff of gynecologists, anesthesiologists, counselors,
social workers, and nurses has always been maintained in order
to provide the highest quality services for women. Since 1971,
Parkmed has been continuously licensed by the State
of New York and has regularly passed inspection by the State Department
of Health.
Parkmed has grown
to become one of the largest providers of abortion services in
the United States. Parkmed offers abortions from the time of conception
through 24 weeks as well as non-surgical abortions.
Parkmed provides
individual counseling and stresses personal attention to every
patient. Comprehensive literature is available to each patient,
which explains both the procedure and her post operative care.
The center maintains a separate
follow-up unit for patient visits, complete birth control services,
tubal ligations, colposcopy, LEEP, gyn exams, STD testing and
treatment, and the morning after pill.
Parkmed has a
close relationship with Beth Israel Hospital, a large tertiary
care facility in Manhattan. Both the full-time Medical Director
and the Board-Certified staff gynecologists and anesthesiologists
have priveleges at Beth Israel Hospital.
